Campaigns - Recycling and waste:

Recycling has been difficult on the Isle of Man until recently. We've had a few recycling bring-banks and a couple of independent recyclers. Most of our waste went to landfill until the energy-from-waste plant (the incinerator) was built. Now most of it is burnt.

However, the Department of Local Government and the Environment has at last introduced kerbside recycling for Braddan, Douglas and Onchan. That's a great start - but what about the rest of the Island?

What is IoM FoE doing?
  • We are campaigning for kerbside recycling collections from all homes around the Isle of Man.
  • We also want to see less packaging - and therefore less waste - created in the first place.
