| Next event - Grow Organically for a secure
future
Talk, discussion, and
light organic supper.
Sunday 24th January 2010, 6pm, St Johns Methodist Church Hall Why we all have to consider growing organically to secure future food supplies both at home and commercially. Presented by Alan Schofield, DAFF horticultural advisor and MD Growing with Nature. Growing with Nature is a local vegetable box scheme in Lancashire, set up by Alan in '92. He's been prominent with the Organic Growers Association (now part of Soil Association). Alan's a former Chair of the Horticultural Standards Committee & in 2004 was awarded the Soil Association Organic Trophy in recognition of his work in promoting organic horticulture. He's the chairman of the Organic Growers Alliance. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session with a panel of local organic growers: Andrew Moore, Balladoole Farm, Castletown; Stephen Devereau, Staarvey Farm, Cronk y Voddy; Robin Price, Purely Plants, Andreas, Mill Millichap, Native Oak Group, Jurby.
